Unless agreed by the Norwich Van Man, in writing, they will not, as part of the quoted removal services:
(a) Dismantle or assemble unit or system furniture, fitments or fittings.
(b) Disconnect or reconnect appliances, fixtures, fittings or equipment.
(c) Take up or lay fitted floor coverings.
(d) Move storage heaters, unless they are dismantled.
(e) Move items from a loft or cellar, unless properly lit, and floored and safe access is provided.
Norwich Van Man staff will not be authorised or qualified to carry out such work. It is recommended that a properly qualified person is separately employed by you to carry out these services, if required.
Items that are not packed, covered or protected correctly will be moved at your own risk and may make any insurance you have invalid.
Self assembled furniture is often not designed to move once assembled. These items are not covered by insurance companies as a general rule. An example of this is wardrobes . Norwich Van Man and his staff take no responsibility for these items.
It will be your sole responsibility to:
(a) Declare to the Norwich Van Man the value of the goods being removed and/or stored.
(c) Obtain at your own expense, all documents, permits, licences, and/or customs documents necessary for the removal to be completed.
(d) Be present or represented throughout the removal.
(e) Take all reasonable steps to ensure that nothing that should be removed is left behind and nothing is taken away in error.
(f) Arrange proper protection for goods left in unoccupied or unattended premises, or where other people such as (but not limited to) tenants or workmen are, or will be present.
(g) Prepare and properly stabilise all appliances or electronic equipment prior to their removal.
(h) Empty, properly defrost and clean refrigerators and deep freezers. The Removal Contractors are not responsible for the contents of this equipment.
(i) Provide House to Home and the Norwich Van Man with a contact address for correspondence during removal, and/or storage of goods.
Other than by reason of the Norwich Van Man negligence, they will not be liable for any loss or damage, costs or additional charges that may arise from any of these matters.
Unless otherwise agreed by Norwich Van Man in writing:
(a) Payment is required, by cleared funds at job completion, Cheques taken as long as your name, address and card number are on back of cheque.
(b) You may not withhold any part of the agreed price before or after the removal service is complete.
Your Responsibility
If you postpone or cancel the contract / Booking, Norwich Van Man may charge according to how much notice is given. Notification must be in writing by recorded delivery or electronic medium that can provide proof of time and date stamp. Cancellations within 24 hours from the job start time are subject to a £50.00 charge.

The following items are specifically excluded from this contract unless otherwise agreed as below.
(a) Jewellery, watches, trinkets, precious stones or metals, money, deeds, securities, stamps, coins, or goods or collections of any similar kind.
(b) Prohibited or stolen goods, drugs, potentially dangerous, damaging or explosive items, including gas bottles, aerosols, paints, firearms and ammunition.
(c) Any animals and their cages or tanks including pets, birds or fish.
(d) Goods which require a special licence or government permission for export or import.
Such goods will not be removed by Norwich Van Man except with their prior written agreement. In the event that they do remove such goods, Norwich Van Man will not accept liability for loss or damage wholly or mainly attributable to the special nature of the goods concerned. If you submit such goods without the Removal Contractors knowledge and prior written agreement they will not be liable for any loss or damage and you will indemnify the Removal Contractor against any charges, expenses, damages or penalties claimed against them.
You are responsible for any additional, unforeseen costs such as, but not limited too parking fees.
Please provide your full address including post code and contact number when booking Norwich Van Man. Delivery address is also required with postcode and contact number if different.
The person/company who hired Norwich Van Man are responsible for making sure their items are ready to be moved / loaded into the Norwich Van Man vehicle.
Norwich Van Man is fully insured for hire and reward purposes including courier cover. However due to the varied items and cost of said items it is strongly recommended you insure your items separately to guarantee you have correct level of insurance cover for your goods.
Norwich Van Man Staff will not accept unreasonable behaviour.
Instructions have been issued for staff to leave a work site in the event of abuse. You will still be billed for the job- this fee comes under the recovery scheme.
Our Responsibility
Norwich Van Man staff are accountable to the Norwich Van Man Company. Let them do their job unheeded. This enables the job to be done more efficiently with less risk.
Staff are not insured or employed to disconnect / connect your household items or fixtures. Tools are therefore not carried by Norwich Van Man Staff.
Norwich Van Man staff are only responsible for the loading / unloading of the Norwich Van Man vehicle. While Norwich Van Man staff will assist beyond the call of duty it is at their and your own risk.
Confirmed bookings will take priority over enquiries or unconfirmed dates.
Disputes
All disputes/Queries/Complaints are to be sent in writing, within 28 days of job completion date to: Adam Watson, Norwich Van Man, 198 Thorpe Road, Number 5, Norwich, Norfolk, Nr1 1tj.
Any disputes between you and Norwich Van Man are subject to English law and to be determined by the English Courts.
For goods which Norwich Van Man deliver, you must note any visible loss, damage or failure to produce any goods at the time of delivery.
(a) Norwich Van Man will not be liable for any damage to premises or property other than goods submitted for removal and/or storage unless they have been negligent.
(b) If Norwich Van Man causes damage as a result of moving goods under your express instruction, against Norwich Van Man advice, and to move the goods in the manner instructed will inevitably cause damage, they shall not accept that they were negligent.
(c) If Norwich Van Man are responsible for causing damage to your premises or to property other than goods submitted for removal and/or storage, you must note this on the worksheet or delivery receipt. This is essential to the contract.
Payment
Unless otherwise agreed by Norwich Van Man in writing:
(a) Payment is required, by cleared funds at job completion, Cheques taken as long as your name, address and card number are on back of cheque.
(b) You may not withhold any part of the agreed price before or after the removal service is complete.
All jobs are charged at an hourly rate. Norwich Van Man cannot be held to estimates. You will be charged for actual hours worked.
The first hour or part hour is charged at the full hourly rate. All other fees will be rounded up to the nearest 15 minutes.
Due to inconsiderate individuals a £50.00 cancellation fee is in place for all jobs cancelled within 24 hours of the job start time. This fee is subject to the late payment terms.
Payment must be made at job completion by cash or cheque. An invoice for payment can be issued if agreed prior to the start of the job. This must be paid within 15 days to avoid late payment charges/payment recovery.
A £50 pound fee will be added to your bill for every week of outstanding payment. A Debt Collection Company will be appointed to make a full recovery for any invoice outstanding for over 2 weeks. You will be responsible for any cost incurred.
Other
By accepting our terms and conditions, we reserve the right to store your contact details for both contact and marketing purposes by either ourselves or related third parties.
The removal quotation issued by Norwich Van Man (whether it be verbal or in writing) is a fixed price / hourly rate. Unless otherwise stated on its face, it does not include insurance, customs duties and inspections or any other fees payable to government bodies.
Norwich Van Man liability for loss or damage is limited. Max payment per booking is £250.
Norwich Van Man Staff have the full right to choose the route for delivery.
Unless it has been specifically agreed in writing on the Quotation, other space/volume/capacity on the Norwich Van Mans vehicles and/or the container may be utilised for consignments of other customers.
Norwich Van Man costs increase (or decrease) because of currency fluctuations (where applicable) or changes in taxation or freight charges for reasons beyond their control.
Norwich Van Man reserve the right to sub-contract some or all of the work.
Where the Norwich Van Man produces a list of your goods (an inventory) or a receipt and sends it to you, it will be accepted as accurate unless you write to them within seven (7) days of receipt, notifying them of any errors or omissions.
By entering into this contract, you declare that:
(a) The goods to be removed and/or stored are your own property, or
(b) The person(s) who own or have an interest in them, have given you authority to make this contract, and have been made aware of these conditions.
You will meet any claim for damages and/or costs against the Norwich Van Man if these declarations are not true.
Due to the expense of tips / rubbish sites a surcharge of £100 per van load of rubbish will be made to our bill. This is the charge made to Norwich Van Man by the waste site companies.
